So I took full advantage of our lovely fake snow over at Perfect North Slopes this past weekend, or should I say our ice slopes, and I must say, it was a blast!! If you have not tried out the Snow Tubing, I highly recommend adding it to your collection of memories!! Derek Beasely said it was going to be cold, and well, he was right, it was pretty cold but not as cold as it is today!!! :0 My fingers are frozen while I’m typing this!!! But anyways back to Snow Tubing, its so much fun. I was bundled up in about 10 layers of clothes so at one point I was actually hot, but once you make your way down the hill at what feels like 65 MPH, your face freezes to whatever your expression was at the time which mine was pretty much this : 0 at all times!!! Check out the action shot of me!!!

Oh and don’t worry, you don’t actually have to drag your sled back to the top of the hill like old school sled riding!! They have a moving ramp that you step onto and ride all the way up!! I was absolutely exhausted after 2 hours though. Dragging that snow tube around is not easy but definitely take the family over to P-NORTH and check it out, everyone will have an awesome time!!
STAY WARM!!!!

As you may know, we are expecting some crazy weather starting tonight and into tomorrow morning! Looks like we may be in for a headache of a commute Tuesday morning! I just want to emphasis how important it is to drive cautious under these conditions. Below are some tips for safe driving as well as valuable information to keep in mind while driving in hazardous situations.
Driving safely on icy roads
- Decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. You should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you.
- Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake.
- Turn on your lights to increase your visibility to other motorists.
- Keep your lights and windshield clean.
- Use low gears to keep traction, especially on hills.
- Don’t use cruise control or overdrive on icy roads.
- Be especially careful on bridges, overpasses and infrequently traveled roads, which will freeze first. Even at temperatures above freezing, if the conditions are wet, you might encounter ice in shady areas or on exposed roadways like bridges.
- Don’t pass snow plows and sanding trucks. The drivers have limited visibility, and you’re likely to find the road in front of them worse than the road behind.
- Don’t assume your vehicle can handle all conditions. Even four-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles can encounter trouble on winter roads.
If your rear wheels skid…
- Take your foot off the accelerator.
- Steer in the direction you want the front wheels to go. If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left. If they’re sliding right, steer right.
- If your rear wheels start sliding the other way as you recover, ease the steering wheel toward that side. You might have to steer left and right a few times to get your vehicle completely under control.
- If you have standard brakes, pump them gently.
- If you have anti-lock brakes (ABS), do not pump the brakes. Apply steady pressure to the brakes. You will feel the brakes pulse — this is normal.
If your front wheels skid…
- Take your foot off the gas and shift to neutral, but don’t try to steer immediately.
- As the wheels skid sideways, they will slow the vehicle and traction will return. As it does, steer in the direction you want to go. Then put the transmission in “drive” or release the clutch, and accelerate gently.
If you get stuck…
- Do not spin your wheels. This will only dig you in deeper.
- Turn your wheels from side to side a few times to push snow out of the way.
- Use a light touch on the gas, to ease your car out.
- Use a shovel to clear snow away from the wheels and the underside of the car.
- Pour sand, kitty litter, gravel or salt in the path of the wheels, to help get traction.
- Try rocking the vehicle. (Check your owner’s manual first — it can damage the transmission on some vehicles.) Shift from forward to reverse, and back again. Each time you’re in gear, give a light touch on the gas until the vehicle gets going.
So again, Please be very careful tomorrow morning! I will make sure I keep you up to date on any problem spots that we may encounter on the roadways! See you tomorrow morning, bright and early!!

This past weekend was my first experience playing the gaming system Nintendo Wii. I was completely blown away by how much fun it actually is! If you haven’t played Wii yet then I highly recommend it! If you are not familiar with this system then to sum it up, you basically use your own body movements to move the action on the screen. For example, if you are playing Tennis, you actually swing your arms like you are hitting the tennis ball in real life!! How fun is that!
Some of the games I played was Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Baseball and Mario Cart! All I can say about Mario Cart is wow am I glad I don’t drive like that in real life, because if I did, our interstates about be a very dangerous place : )!!!
Nintendo Wii really is a lot of fun, and from what I hear there is an awesome set up for the game Guitar Hero. I hear you can have a complete band meaning one person plays the drums, the other plays a guitar and one person sings!! Now that sounds like a blast! Its definitely something fun to do if you have a group get together! Only one problem though, it can get a little dangerous! You can have up to 4 Wii controllers playing at once so imagine 4 players in a small room, somebody is leaving with a black eye!!
Well that is it for now. Im off to play some Wiiiiii : )
Talk to you soon,
Brandon

Hey Everyone!! Halloween is coming up in a few days and I’m just curious if anybody has any interesting or exciting plans?!
I am not sure what I will be doing yet, I know there are a variety of events going on in Cincinnati this weekend but its hard to chose just one! I haven’t even decided what I will dress up as if I do end up going out somewhere so I need ideas!!!!!!
In my opinion the best way to spend Halloween is carving pumpkins and watching scary movies!!
It might also be fun to travel up to Kings Island this weekend for Fear Fest!!
Well if you have any ideas then let me know and I hope you have a fun, safe, and scary Halloween!!!!!!!
